Gingerbread House Mania!

A tradition that was started in my family even before I was born was the annual making of Gingerbread Houses.   I haven't had a Christmas without this event!  It is a TON of work for the mom's, but the kids just love it.   This year we decided to do it again with ALL the Knudsen cousins that were in town.   It was so fun!   I love that I'm passing this onto my Granddaughter.  She loved all the CANDY, and her daddy, the dentist-to-be, didn't mind too much either. The Fox's couldn't take theirs home on the airplane with them, so we are enjoying it along with the other 4 from my kids at home.   The smell is wonderful!

 Nate and Danielle, this is acutally Danielle's 2nd year of this tradition with us! 

They were engaged last Christmas.  Their roof is swedish fish!   They turned theirs into a log cabin.

We were in Heidi's Dining Room and Kitchen, on 4 tables and her long counter!  Thanks Aunt Heidi for having the mess at your house this year!

 

I didn't buy enough Hersey Chocolate Bars for Noah to do what he'd imagined, but his

house still turned out great!

Here is how they are displayed at my home.   Up on top of a bookshelf, this keeps little (and big) hands from picking Candy off and eating them!  We put a strand of Christmas Lights inside each one and they light up the windows so nice.  This also seems to warm up the gingerbread and makes them smell so wonderful!
