Jia Ling . . . Jubilee

This beautiful child is our newest reason to celebrate! We learned of Jia Ling in November 2005. We stared our adoption process in April 2005 and we had been waiting since then to know who this little child was that we were feeling so much love towards and connection with. Before we even saw photo's of Jia Ling, we were in love and knew she was ours! Heather's heart was beating out of her chest when Laura from the adoption agency called to tell us of this little darling who was being "referred" to our family for consideration for adoption. It was a VERY long 2 months of many tears, prayers, concerns, and phone calls before it was official and we were ophanage approved to be the family for Jia Ling. It even began to look like it wasn't meant for her to be a part of our family. But, our miracle came. Jia Ling is ours! We immediately started the paperwork for the Taiwanese Courts. We were officially "in the courts" on March 13, 2006. There was a 2 week delay with an issue about Jia Ling's Birth Certificate, but we are now waiting for the Courts to give us the word that we can go pick her up from Taiwan. The 2 other families from our adoption agency who's paperwork went in the court the same day as us now have travel dates in the next 1 to 3 weeks.
