On June 6th, Myself, Isaac and Gracie flew to Southern Virginia to spent 2 weeks on Vacation with Nichole and Lucy. Erik was doing dental rotations and was going to be out of town a lot in June so Nichole talked me into coming and spending some time with her and driving down to Disney World to see our dear friend Rachael Wilson who is a princess at Disney. I have wanted to go see Rachael at Disney so I jumped at the chance and John was so great to let me go, as long as I took our 2 youngest with me. I knew they would love it and I would hate to go to Disney without them, so we booked cheap airline tickets, a red eye flight! and away we went. I couldn't drive through Georgia without stopping a couple of days at my fun Sis-in-laws, Jana! Here are photo's at Gary and Becky's home where we had a yummy bbq and enjoyed catching up with some of the Gary Jewkes kids. Isaac loved catching frogs and chasing lizards. Unfortanely, he learned of the hazards of the southern woods when he follows Uncle Gary's large dog into the woods and came upon a bee's nest. He was stung over 10 times! Poor kid.
In front of Jana's darling home! She has it decorated so cute. We had fun going to an antique mall with her and a pilate's class! Thanks to Kailey for tending the kiddo's!
Here are the kids sleeping in the back of the Corolla on the drive to Atlanta from Virginia. The kids were troopers as we had 5 people and all our luggage in Nichole's small car on the 11 hour drive. The kids had backpacks with toys and bags of snack all at their feet to entertain them.
Caution: Disney Photo Overload!
We had such a great time at Disney World. We spent 3 days there. We did Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Disney in one day and then spent 1 full, late day at the Magic Kingdom. We had a break day where we went to Jana's Resort and swam with her and Kailey. Then we went another day back to the Magic Kingdom to spend more time with Rachael. We LOVED getting to see Rachael at work at so many different events. She worked afternoons and evenings so we got to enjoy her playing with us in the parks in the mornings. She sure knows her way around and helped us get to see and do so much! She is so much fun to be with. We just had a great time. It was very, very hot in Florida. We often asked why so many people pay so much money to be out in the heat, but it was just a really great time. All 3 kids were so patient with the waiting in lines and the heat.
Isaac and Gracie hated the Tower of Terror Ride! Gracie cried and shook for 10 minutes after the ride. I felt bad for her. We had taken Brig on this ride when he was 5 year old. He had loved it! I thought these two would love it too!? I didn't think we'd get them on another ride after their experience on it! But they did love all the "Mountain" rides at the Magic Kingdom. Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain were favorites!
Our private meet and greet with Rachael's "friend" Mary Poppins was the highlight of the trip. Mary suprised us and brought along Peter Pan. Mary was very impressive. Speaking in her British accent and talking very properly. We love you Mary!
Another of Rachael's "friends", one of the bears from Bear Country was part of a Hoedown in Fronteir land. The bear grabbed Gracie and the 2 of them were part of a street dancing show. It was so fun! Rachael is also a dancer in the Electric Light Parade. She follows the Cinderella Float. She looked just beautiful!
