For six weeks this summer we hosted a Korean child in our home. Shin Young, 11 years old, fit right into our family. He is one of Aunt Jihyun's English students and knew some English as he arrived in America. His English improved greatly over the 6 weeks he was with us. Shin Young's English name is Jake and he preferred that we called him Jake. Jake was a delight to have in our home. He was very musical and full of jokes and fun. He loved 4-wheeling, swimming, and camping with us. We had a very hard time letting him go back home to his family in Korea, we'd become attached to Jake. We are planning to host Jake again during his winter break in Jan. and Feb. and are looking forward to having him a part of us again.
