Jewkes Reunion '09, Southern Utah

Every 3 years John's family holds a family reunion. Last reunion, we had just returned home from Taiwan picking up our little Gracie Rose, so I attend. I was looking forward to spending this time with my kids and the entire Jewkes clan. It was a lot of fun. There were about 125 of us Jewkes'. We stayed in really nice, new condo's in St. George. Noah and Isaac ended up getting Strep Throat for a couple of days of the reunion, but overall it was a great time.

This was our first time to see a production at TUACAHN. It was amazing! They did a great job with the musical "Footloose". Brig and Noah loved it. Even Gracie and Isaac loved the singing and dancing and the snow cones of course!

Our kids and cousins Kailey visiting Bryce Canyon.

Brig posing for a great view photo.

Isaac loved the tunnels. He wasn't too excited about the 2 hour hike we took, in 90 plus degree weather, but he and Gracie were troopers and walked the entire way! They really missed their big brothers, Erik and Nate, who normally would have picked them up about half way through a hike like this.

Speaking of troopers. Noah was so sick. His throat was killing him and he was running a fever while we did this hike. Later that night we ran him to an instacare and found that he had strep throat! I felt so bad for dragging him on this hike, but we all did enjoy the beauty.

John and his sister Jana, near the end of the hike.

We went another day to Zions. We got a late start due to running Isaac to instacare that morning for pink eye! (He started in with strep a couple of days later!) The kids were so excited that there would be very little hiking this day, just getting on and off a shuttle to see the sights. Well, it was close to 100 degree's and the shuttle WAS NOT air conditioned!!! (For environmental reasons we were told?) We only lasted a couple of stops before we were just WAY too hot. We headed back to the van to drive to the air conditioned condo and the pool! We will have to do Zions another time in the fall or spring.

This mountain was named "Isaac". We had to get a photo there, even though we were MELTING!
