Random Summer Jubilee

Happy 4th of July!
Cousin Lauren and Aunt Heidi watched Lucy while the rest of us went to the Amazing show and fireworks at the Staduim of Fire at BYU. We were given ticket from a friend. It was such an great night. Carrie Underwood was the main event, other than the fireworks of course.

Nichole and Erik waiting for the show to start.

A week at the Cabin was the Knudsen Family Reunion. We had devotional with the theme of Book of Mormon Time Machine. We learned lessons of faith and obedience from the stories in the Book of Mormon. At one point during the week, we had everyone of us from my mother's family expect my dad who passed away 7 ago, and Nate who is serving a Mission in Santiago, Chile. It was a great week of counsins, good food, and relaxing.

Isaac lined up pine cones on the deck railing and then threw pine cones at them to knock them off.

Brig, Jason, and Jonas playing the "how low can you go" paper bag game. Jason won!

Here is where you could find Gracie most of the time.

We had a pedicure pj party one night. The girls got to soak their feet in a bubbly foot massager and then Aunt Heather painted their toe nails and put sparkling stickers on them.

Noah made this hat for himself.

This hat of Great Grandma's seemed to complete the look

Isaac and Gracie on the Kiddie Bumper Cars at Lagoon Amusement Park, this and the
Merry-go-Round were the favorites!

The Octopus was a perfect way to cool off. You often get squirted with water during this ride.

This was Isaac and Gracie's first time at Lagoon. Below Gracie isn't sure about this ride and sure enough she hated it. I worried I wouldn't get her on anything else the rest of the day. But the kiddy bumper cars was just what she needed to get back into the fun. They both loved these. Isaac went on all the rides he was tall enough for. He wouldn't go twice on some of the big rides, but said he liked them okay.

We went to Moab for 5 days of fun in the hot sun! We stayed in a nice roomy condo. We found the way to enjoy the sites in July 103 degree temps. was to get up early and get on the trails to beat the heat. We hiked the 3 mile round trip to Delicate Arch in Arches National Park in just over 2 hours, but we started the hike at 7:30 AM. It was so worth getting up early.

Nichole and Erik at Ken Lake.

Our family at Mesa Arch in Canyon Lands. The two big boys walked across this arch, giving mom a heart attack! There is a 500 foot drop off on the other side which makes for a beautiful view.

Noah taking his turn to carry Lucy. She slept through much of the hiking.

Our family at Delicate Arch. This is the Arch featured on Utah's liscense plates. It was a hard hike, but we all made it!

Lucy's favorite position. Looking out, strapped to her daddy.
